Character study

April 30, 2020

With the stay-at-home order, I’ve tried to find some time to practice new lighting patterns and improving my skills. I also have a new background that I bought at Imaging USA in January that I hadn’t even taken out of the box. (Ok, I have three new backgrounds – those are for later). I made these images with my ProPhoto B1 and B10s. Man, I love these lights! They’re so portable and easy to use. I wanted to see what I could do with a smaller light source. I love how the shadow gives her face depth.

My daughter has a wild and exaggerated personality. Here is her goofball personality shining through when I asked her to be silly. I love how they come together to tell a story. This was a happy moment. It brings me joy to look at, and lately, joy is very much appreciated and needed.
